Kilhey Court Wedding Photography - Kelly & Michael's Wedding coming soon

Colourful details, drinks on a sun drenched lawn, fab guests and a gorgeous couple, can't wait to bring you Kelly & Michaels wedding at Kilhey Court Hotel.

Wedding Photography at Kilhey Court : Daniel & Leanne

Daniel & Leannes wedding ticked all the boxes, fun, emotional & gorgeous. As we arrived to a very relaxed Leanne in the morning we where greeted by a huge smile that never changed all day, despite this crazy weather we are having at the moment.Daniel would agree that he was a the more nervous of the two but after a beautiful ceremony & meeting family & friends he relaxed and gave a fabulous speech.

Wedding Photography at Kilhey Court: Matt & Emma

So… there you are planning your ‘autumn wedding’ warm suits, wraps etc then comes along a heatwave!!!!, can only be the English weather. Matt & Emma are the most relaxed people I have met & take everything in their stride, but on this day all will agree a few nerves were on show as Matt waited for Emma at the picturesque St Marys Church in Ecclestone Village. The reception was at Kilhey Court with guests adding to a great atmosphere and great speeches. Then to top everything a spectacular firework display really got the evening party started. A great day meeting up with 'The Parkers' and making a few new friends on the way.

Thanks to Matt & Emma for a great day, great hospitality & a WOW firework display

Michael & Lisa's Wedding

Well another wedding, and another day dodging the showers, but one thing I love about our couples is that no matter the weather they still enjoy themselves totally & this was the case with Michael & Lisa and they really gave us some great shots. Their wedding was at Rainford Parish Church & the reception in the Laureate Restaurant at Kilhey Court Hotel with its views over the gardens.
Now I have to admit when we left I felt a little sorry for Michael as after a great Dads speech & a very emotional, from the heart speech by Michael he was the destroyed by a Bestmans speech including the groom singing his nemesis song, hilarious.

Matt & Michelle's Wedding at Kilhey Court Wigan

Matt & Michele’s wedding took place at the historic St Thomas the Martyr church in picturesque Up Holland, parts of the church date back over 800 years (apparently??). Jane was met by a very relaxed Michelle & Henry their cute little son I met up with Matt at the church with his mates in party mood. This wedding was always going to be a laugh & really didn’t disappoint even to the point where at one moment we had to stop taking photos for laughing. The reception was at Kilhey Court Hotel with its glorious gardens the day just flowed…. Even the weather was great.

Matt & Ruth at Kilhey Court Hotel

Matt & Ruth married at Kilhey Court Hotel in a very relaxed but emotional day, over 200 friends & family joined them including several of our previous couples to make this a memorable day. Our day started with Ruth & daughter,Charlie getting ready at the hotel (we found out just how fiddly buttons on wedding dresses really are!!!) with a proud dad escorting Ruth to a nervous Matt.
Matt & Ruth a so in love & made for some really gorgeous images, a day Jane & I will remember.

Mark & Leanne's Wedding at Kilhey Court Hotel

I really do love bride & Grooms who understand the importance of photography on their day, the emotions & memories that their images will give them for a lifetime, and this was the case with Mark & Leanne who's wedding took place at St Matthews Church in Wigan and onto our second home Kilhey Court Hotel. From our original meeting the ideas & inspiration that they gave me regarding their wishes for the photography on their day was amazing & on the day it was better than even I expected.
The one thing Mark & Leanne requested was a shoot in a cornfield, my regular blog watchers will know I love cornfields, so this was a joy.
On our way to the cornfield we passed thru the busy motorway underpass where I noticed so great graffiti & shot some great funky urban style images, I do love to shoot weddings in the most unlikely places & at the end of the day I had a content smile on my face.
This was a fun wedding to shoot & along with a great Videographer Mike Roberts the day flew.Nervous speeches & a great first dance added to a wedding that really was fantastic. Thanks really go to Mark & Leanne for having the confidence in Jane & Myself to allow us just to play & try new things.

A lovely card from a lovely couple.

As we enter our busiest month of the year and shooting some great couples & stunning locations its easy to forget just how good of a journey this job has given Jane & myself so it was nice to receive a lovely thank you card from a gorgeous couple whose wedding we photographed at Christmas. What made this doubly nice was the card arrived at the studio on my birthday (yes I did work on my birthday, and finished late!) & was a real pick me up……

To David & Jane,
What can we say but thank you, thank you, thank you! The Wedding Album is absolutely stunning. We could not have wished for anything more perfect, special treasured memories that we will hold close to us for the rest of our lives.
Thank you for making our day and also the months after so memorable, fun & invaluable. Two very special & talented people who, it goes without saying , we will be recommending to all of our family & friends.
Thanks again,
Simon & Jo Mullineux

It just goes to show that with some photographers opting for the easy option of just providing the Bride & Groom with their wedding images on just a disc & actually nothing else to show for the money, just how important a wedding album actually is.I have said on many occasions a wedding album is for life, a family heirloom more than just a collection of snaps, and when done properly can re awaken the memories of the best day of your life every time you open its pages.

So Testimonials like this give Jane & Myself real pride in a job well done but they are even better when the couples relatives are so impressed that they book us to photograph their big day, so to Simon & Jo thanks & see you at Luke & Nicola’s wedding, already looking forward to it.

Gareth & Helens wedding at Kilhey Court

Jane I first met Gareth & Helen about 2 years ago when they booked us to shoot their wedding, over this time we became friends & found just what a fun couple they are, so on what seemed like the hottest day of the year their wedding took place at Rainford Parish Church then on to Kilhey Court Hotel. This was such a chilled affair and as the sun set guests relaxed, played games & chatted before a great evening party

Kilhey Court Hotel with Lee & Jane

The fabulous surroundings of Kilhey Court Hotel are amongst our favourite locations add to that a great couple we really did have a blast.Lee & Janes Wedding was a very special day, & thanks to a gorgeous couple & friends & family for a great day

Kind Words... this is why not all photographers are the same

Iain & Lesleyann had the honour of being our last wedding in 2009, a real party of a wedding that Jane & I really enjoyed so on completion of their album a lovely card was given to us…David & Jane
We would like to say a HUGE thank you for our amazing wedding photographs.
You captured the complete essence of our day, love, family, friends, fun and our new journey as man and wife.
You are both so friendly and professional and made us feel so at ease.
We will treasure our photos forever and will smile and laugh at them so fondly for many years to come.
Thanks for capturing the magic.
Lesleyann & Iain
Wedding photography IS demanding, you have to be a people person as well as skilled with the camera & after a few very worrying stories from friends of our gorgeous Bride & Grooms about their photographers who gave the sales pitch only to find on the day all not what it seems but by then its too late.
One thing I have learned over the years... you DO get what you pay for in this business.

Rob & Lisa's Wedding

When you arrive & are greeted by laughter then you know its going to be a good wedding as was the case at Lisa’s.All the girls & a very cool Ricardo,Rob & Lisa’s son were in high spirits all captured by the videographer Mike Roberts in his usual style.I love working with Mike, its always a laugh.
Lisa & Rob looked absolutely stunning & a packed church made for a fantastic atmosphere and great shots. The reception was in the Lakeside suite at Kilhey Court Hotel.

Thanks to Rob & Lisa for a great day… see you soon.D.

Simon & Elizabeths Wedding

Mix a great couple, the West End theatre & fantastic friends then you have Simon & Elizabeth’s wedding. The weather forecast for the week had been at best ‘iffy’ but on the day the sun shone everybody was in the mood for fun.I had been looking forward to this wedding as shooting actors, actresses & thespians in general (ooh big word time), the day was allways going to be full of emotion & great atmosphere. It was such a joy to shoot a wedding in the warm sunshine & with such a great couple as Simon & Elizabeth with added entertainment from the bestman, bridesmaids & always up for a laugh Ushers, it didn’t dissapoint.
The day ended with some stunning shots as the sun went down & an evening party with a great band(an x factor finalist no less) everybody partied….

Well, nearly everybody…..

So that was 2009...Time for Iain & Lesleyann's Party

WOW what an amazing few weeks, wedding bookings coming in thick & fast (even 2012) so thank you & welcome to all our new clients Im really looking forward to this year, anyway back to last year (seems so long ago) our last wedding of 2009, our last wedding of an amazing decade saw both Jane & I again at Kilhey Court on New Years Eve, what a day for a wedding & what a night for a wedding party.
Ive posted my Fave images for you to look at, but with so many to choose from it was a tough one. A great wedding to end the decade on & also a great way to look forward to a great decade, new friends, new locations & new memories…cant wait

Winter Wonderland for Simon & Joanne

When Simon & Joanne themed their wedding on a winter wonderland i'm not sure that snow & ice was meant to be included, but a winter wonderland was what greeted us at Kilhey Court Hotel. This was our first of a busy run of weddings over christmas & what a start.A beautiful couple made for beautiful images helped by Simon & joanne braving the elements all complimented by ice sculptures & dramatic lighting for the meal.

Chris & Laura's White Wedding

Wedding photography can be challenging at the best of times, with the people organising & photography skills… oh, and then add to that digging out the car, closed roads & freezing temperatures then you have Chris & Lauras wedding.
Chris had just returned with his regiment from Afghanistan and after a trying few months both Chris & Laura were determined to do two things, have the biggest wedding & biggest party they could.
Weddings at Christmas time really are magical, but add snow & they take on a whole new meaning….snowball fights. This was one of the funniest weddings/snowball fights with the Army taking on the Bridesmaids & Ushers with no holding back.
Very emotional speeches & a great evening of fun & dancing made this a very special day not only for Chris & Laura but also Jane & myself.

Thanks you two, your love & laughter made the day.A real fun wedding.D.

Flowers.......for moi!...

Its not often that I’m left speechless but yesterday (fri) I was speechless.
I was upto my neck in orders, albums, mounts & framing client photo orders ready to be wrapped & sent to father Christmas etc etc…when in came the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers with a note of thanks from Jackie & Paul who’s wedding we shot in September. Its always a joy to receive thanks for doing what you love but this was the first time we had received flowers, a real pick up aswell for Jane who’s been a little under the weather the last few days, so again to Jackie & Paul Thanks.

Yes Jackie I did tell her they were from you & not a gift from me (did think about it though!!!!)
