ROCK THE FROCK

Rock The Frock is our NEW service based on an idea we found from America that combines my background in fashion photography with our Bride & Grooms that want images that are a million miles from Traditional Wedding photography. In the USA they call it trash the dress & that’s exactly what they do,they shoot Brides in rivers & mud I’ve even seen a photo of a Bride with her dress on fire. This is the reason I’ve decided to call our service Rock The Frock mainly because I’m not brave (or daft) enough to destroy any dress,I just want to shoot the couple in a more modern, high fashion style.
Dale & Estelle were the first of many Bride & Grooms to take advantage of this service & what a shoot.Truly amazing images.

Below are my fave shots from the shoot.

Stephen & Louise's Wedding

Stephen & Louise were married at Dalton Church,a church I hadn’t been to for a while & forgot just how stunning the countryside is there.Leaving church I saw a field full of colour & Steve & Louise were great jumping out of the car into the field, as if that wasn’t enough mother nature showed off even more with an amazing bluebell show. Thanks to Steve & Louise who were fantastic on the day.D.

A note to all Grooms,be careful what you say about your bestman, dont forget HE has the last word!

And The Winner Is........ME!!!!

The British Professional Photography Awards were held at the weekend and I received the top honours in 2 categories.I have been awarded Reportage Wedding Photographer Of The Year NW 2008 & Studio Portrait Photographer Of The Year NW 2008.A huge achievement not only for myself but thanks have to go to Jane also, after all they say behind every good man is a good woman (yes I am after brownie points). The awards were hosted by Nigel Jay of the North West news fame and was a fantastic black tie event (I think, don’t remember too much after I had received the awards).I have posted below the two winning images.

Greg & Fiona

This was a great shoot at the beach, the weather was perfect & we had a great time.I do love photography that includes my two favourite subjects, people & places & this shoot didn’t disappoint. Greg & Fiona were fantastic to photograph making a great day at the end of a mad week for me.

Ally & Liza's Wedding

Its always great to photograph people who want to have fun,no matter what the weather.Ally & Liza were great to photograph & the guests played their part too.A great day.Heres a few of my faves more to follow in the near future.

Focus On Imaging 2008

Just returned from Focus On Imaging 2008 at the NEC in Birmingham. This is Europe's biggest annual imaging show for photographers & the image business and I was given a great honour as Spicer Hallfield, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of Wedding & Portrait presentation products used my images to show off their range of albums & frames. The show has over 32,000 visitors over 4 days & if its new in photography its on show at Focus. After a really busy few weeks,(when I am supposed to be quiet) this was a huge boost. The images are of the show stand, Martin Baynes MD & Jane & myself. Jane looks great (hate photos of me!!!).

James & Nicola's Wedding

One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is meeting new friends & great people and this wedding was no different. Both James & Nicola have a great sense of humor and to say James was happy to be married was an understatement.James is from the USA and and his family came over for the wedding & were amazed at the history behind both the church,Deane Parish in Bolton & Haigh Hall.Nicolas family traveled not quite as far from Bolton.A great wedding, fun guests & perfect weather all complimented by a fantastic sunset.Loads of great images at the wedding but have posted my faves. The lighting was great.

January Faves

Well that was January. I blinked & missed it, busy with Weddings,Portraits & redecorating the studio.Nearly finished the front (I think it looks great & passers by seem to agree). Had a few amazing weddings & met some great people as well, and have posted my fave images for you below.Hope you like.

First wedding was Kevin & Samantha's wedding at Kilhey Court Hotel.A great day Kevin was very nervous and Sam looked amazing.Next wedding was at Haigh Hall. This is a fantastic location for stunning photography.Matthew & Kate's wedding was really emotional,Kate's an event organiser so really made the day exactly as she wanted.Great speeches, great atmosphere.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Studio reopened after the Christmas Break (wot break only had 4 days in the two weeks). This Christmas has been our busiest EVER!!!
I am really looking forward to 2008,shooting some great weddings this year & will put some images on the blog so you can view my fave shots, also the 2008 awards are fast approaching and I am confident that the images I have selected for this years awards are even better than last years (achieved 4 awards from that set submitted).I have a few ideas for new promotions aswell so keep checking this space!!!
Perhaps most important is a new look for the studio, works starts Feb, not looking forward to the mess but cant wait for the finished results.

Anyway a happy New Year to clients old & new and hope you have a great 2008.
